

The primary objective of this practical course is to expose students from Latin America to the use of invertebrate preparations (primarily Drosophila melanogaster, C. elegans, and bees) for basic and applied research in neurosciences and biomedicine. It was offered for the fifth time April 5th – 13th, 2019, and will be offered October 20-29, 2022.

This practical course exposes Latin American students to recent advances and modern techniques in developmental biology using the following model systems: planaria, Drosophila melanogaster, zebrafish, Xenopus, and chick. This course will be offered again in January 4-16, 2023.
